Overview An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Cabinet and Governance Branch as Policy Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The Cabinet and Governance Branch provides high-quality, strategic analysis and advice on public sector administration and workforce matters and the institutions of government, including the Office of the Governor, Parliament, Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission, the Victorian Public Sector Commission and the Office of the Chief Parliamentary Counsel. As a Policy Officer in the Public Sector Governance team, you will work in a fast-paced and vibrant policy environment, among supportive and engaged peers. Your team contains deep public sector governance expertise and is part of a cohort with specialisations in governance, law, economics, and industrial relations. Governance Branch provides a positive, supportive culture and a work environment that enables high performance. About you As our ideal candidate you will have: Demonstrated experience in policy design and development and ability to conduct critical analysis on data and evidence collected. Highly developed strategic planning skills and ability to identifiy and develop own and team objectives linking strategies to actions to achieve these goals. Strong influence and persuasion skills and abiliy to adapt the content, style, message or tone of a presentation to suit the audience and how to tackle objections. Ability to be resilient and willingness to be adaptable and flexible to changes in pressured situations. Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
