Occupational Therapist – Incentives Offered Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our New England Community Aged Care Service (NECACS). This full‑time role supports older adults across the Tamworth Regional Council area. Remuneration: $116,892 – $120,680 per annum + superannuation + salary packaging + rural incentives Location: Tamworth Community Health Service Employment Type: Temporary Full Time – Until January 2027 Position Classification: Occupational Therapist Level 3 Requisition ID: REQ Applications Close: Sunday 23rd November 2025 Make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults across the New England region. Responsibilities Provide assessment and intervention in the community, including discharge planning for Manilla and Barraba Hospitals and post‑acute care interventions. Deliver high‑quality clinical services to adults within the Tamworth Regional Council area, supporting optimal health and wellbeing outcomes for patients, their families, and carers. Work independently and as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. Manage your own waitlist, appointments, and workload while collaborating with senior occupational therapists. Qualifications & Requirements Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA. Proactive and organised clinician with strong planning, communication, and time‑management skills. Passion for rural healthcare and experience in home modifications and equipment prescription (preferred). Australian Citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen with NZ passport, or appropriate visa allowing work in Australia. What We Offer Up to $10,000 in the first 12 months and up to $5,000 each year thereafter in fortnightly payments under the Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. Supportive multidisciplinary environment with peer and senior mentorship. Comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development. Outreach travel to Manilla and Barraba in a work vehicle. Role with autonomy and impact in the community. Additional Information *Based on a minimum 18‑month commitment or agreed contract duration. Payments pro‑rata for part‑time/contract employees.
