A permanent full‑time appointment on a four night per week basis - the Maintenance Fitter will report to the Maintenance Leading Hand. This role covers site utility services, processing equipment, filling machines, packaging lines and warehousing. This role is based in our Knoxfield facility. Key responsibilities will include: Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance of plant equipment, machinery, refrigeration, and buildings. Working closely with the Night Shift Operator, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and other teams to understand and troubleshoot production, quality, and equipment issues as they arise. Ensuring stoppages, performance issues and breakdowns are rectified in a safe and timely manner. High level fault finding, repair and maintenance on complex pneumatic control systems. Assisting other members of the Maintenance team with breakdowns, repairs and fault finding, as required. Using the MEX system to ensure all maintenance and work order requests are completed in a timely manner. Train, mentor, and coach the operations teams on the safe and correct operating procedures of the equipment. Working safely in safety‑first culture while maintaining a clean and tidy working environment. Driving continuous improvement on performance, efficiency, and safety. Project and installation work as required. Completion of JSAs and SWMS as required. Qualifications and experience required for the role: A relevant qualification in Mechanical Fitting/Turning. Ideally 3+ years’ experience in a similar Food Manufacturing environment. About you: A sound understanding of the operation and maintenance procedures of site equipment. Experience with liquid manufacturing equipment will be highly regarded. Experience with utility services, processing equipment, filling machines, packaging lines in a manufacturing environment. A sound understanding of workplace health and safety and the ability to work in a safe manner. Understanding and experience in a food manufacturing environment. Experience in a similar role within a UHT processing environment is a distinct advantage. Experience with large scale machine installations. Understanding of food manufacturing processes and hygiene requirements. A proactive attitude and self‑motivated. You will be a reliable and organised individual who works well within a team. You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work with strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. You will have a passion for manufacturing and excellent attention to detail. Excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills. Highly organised. Excellent attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
