Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing | Clayton Full‑Time Role | Immediate Start | $48–$52 per hour + OT | TIG/MIG Welding Advantage OzStaff is partnering with a well‑established food manufacturing business in Clayton to recruit a skilled Maintenance Fitter for a full‑time, permanent position. The site produces a range of powdered food products and runs a growing, high‑volume operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive tradesperson who enjoys a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in keeping machinery and production lines running safely and reliably. Immediate start available for the right candidate. What’s on Offer Full‑time permanent position Immediate start $48–$52 per hour (negotiable based on experience) + overtime Stable, long‑term role in a growing manufacturing site Supportive maintenance team and strong site culture Opportunity to contribute to improvements and reliability projects Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across production equipment Rapidly troubleshoot and rectify mechanical faults to minimise downtime Maintain and repair: conveyors, fillers, vertical form fill seal machines, auger fillers and more pneumatics and automated systems processing and packaging machinery Assist with machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of machinery Accurately complete work orders, maintenance logs, and service documentation Ensure all tasks meet strict food manufacturing safety and hygiene (GMP) standards Contribute to continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives Skills & Experience Trade qualification as a Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter Experience in a food/FMCG or manufacturing environment Fault‑finding capability and breakdown response skills Exposure to preventative maintenance systems and routines TIG/MIG welding experience (highly regarded) A strong safety mindset and ability to work autonomously or within a team How to Apply Click Apply Now via SEEK, or apply directly at ozstaff.com.
