What You’ll Be Doing Responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities, including laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards, and continual process improvement. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification, with subjects relevant to haematology from a recognised tertiary institution. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services relevant to haematology, including (but not limited to) morphology and flow cytometry. Proven experience with laboratory information systems, patient systems, quality control systems, and middleware programmes. Customer‑focused approach with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including report‑writing, statistical evaluation of scientific data, and effective communication with customers, patients, clinical and laboratory staff. Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 shift roster which includes out‑of‑hours, weekends and on‑call shifts. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines efficiently. Initiative, problem‑solving and analytical skills with the ability to apply established principles and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment. Sound understanding of legislation, policies and requirements that impact the laboratory environment, including work health and safety, privacy and quality management.
