The contemporary 488‑bed facility has 60% public and 40% private beds and offers a wide range of health services including surgery, a 50‑bed emergency department, intensive care, birthing, paediatrics, cardiac, mental health, dialysis, a cancer centre and outpatients. NBH has 13 operating theatres, a hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two catheter laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, supported by a critical care unit with two intensive care wards. The hospital is designed to optimise patient safety and experience while providing efficient operational support for the local community. The Outpatients Department is seeking a friendly, experienced medical administration staff member for a casual ward clerk position. Our ward clerks provide outstanding customer care to patients and their families and this role is ideal for patient‑care focused individuals who want a dynamic career in healthcare. As a Ward Clerk, Your Responsibilities Will Include Providing patient‑centred customer service, including greeting all customers Handling enquiries with a friendly and professional manner Booking, rescheduling, and billing appointments Maintaining accurate and timely patient information data, and processing medical records Liasing with medical staff Undertaking general administration duties Coordinating with other areas of the hospital Managing patient electronic records while ensuring privacy and confidentiality of patient information Essential Criteria Highly developed interpersonal and time‑management skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary environments Good computer literacy and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) A track record of providing great service and customer experience Strong interpersonal communication and report‑writing skills Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment Ability to multitask with competing priorities Benefits On Offer Discounted onsite parking Discounted gym memberships including Fitness Passport Employee Assistance Programs Salary Packaging via novated lease Bulk Billing services for employees and immediate family members To Apply Please click on the 'Apply' button to be taken to our online application form.
