Clinical Support Officer – Intensive Care Unit Job within Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD). Employment Type: Permanent Full Time. Position Classification: Admin Clinical Support Officer Level 3. Location: Nepean Hospital. Hours per Week: 38. Remuneration: $71–$73 per annum. About Us Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, providing a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region. Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital offering tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care / ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Role Overview The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) will support nursing and clinical staff in the delivery of patient care within the Intensive Care Unit. The role enhances the efficiency of clinical operations by providing timely and accurate administrative support across designated wards or units, complementing existing systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Assist with transactional and administrative tasks for the ICU team. Supply timely support to ward clerks and communication officers. Maintain accurate documentation and coordinate communication within the health facility. Exercise initiative and independent judgment within established procedures, under broad supervision. Support the functioning of the unit, enabling senior staff to focus on key decisions. Qualifications & Experience Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent, or willingness to undertake. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams), Healthroster, Staff Link, iProcurement, Content Manager and My Health Learning. Capacity to work under broad supervision in a high‑pressure, high‑volume environment. Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Problem‑solving skills.
