Road Science Australia is seeking a Technical Development Lead to join our collaborative and motivated team in Somerton, VIC. What you'll be doing Acting as the technical authority and deputy to the Product Development Team Leader Leading research and development of innovative pavement and construction materials Characterising and testing pavement materials, including conducting relevant mix designs to meet technical and client requirements Driving continuous improvement in lab operations, quality systems, and sustainability practices Mentoring and developing team members to build technical capability Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external clients to deliver impactful solutions What you'll bring A Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or Materials (Postgrad qualifications highly regarded) Proven experience in construction material testing, especially in soils, stabilisation, and bituminous binders Strong understanding of NATA‑accredited lab environments and quality systems Excellent technical writing and presentation skills A passion for innovation, sustainability, and team leadership Familiarity with national/state road authority test methods and specifications and pavement modelling is a plus Benefits Be part of a market‑leading team driving innovation in road construction industry.
