Opportunity to apply for continuing education allowance based on tertiary qualifications attained where applicable Opportunity to obtain Clinical Nurse Specialist status where relevant Role Overview The Enrolled Nurse delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) consistent with SESLHD and POWH policies, procedures and standards. The Enrolled Nurse works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, and assists in the provision of nursing care. Enrolled Nurses retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the Registered Nurse for delegated functions. Responsibilities Deliver high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the Prince of Wales Hospital consistent with SESLHD and POWH policies, procedures and standards. Assist the Registered Nurse in the provision of nursing care and maintain delegated nursing responsibilities. Maintain personal accountability to the Registered Nurse for delegated functions. Comply with all relevant professional and organisational standards established by NSW Health, the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Prince of Wales Hospital. Qualifications & Selection Criteria Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). Holds a nursing & midwifery board approved qualification in medicines administration, including intravenous therapy. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders. Supports working in a person‑centred environment. Current professional practice knowledge base. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems. Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
