About NEAC The National Energy Analysis Centre (NEAC) is CSIRO-led, next-generation digital research infrastructure that will drive and inform Australia's energy transition to net zero. Physical Infrastructure Integration – connections to CSIRO facilities for testing and simulation. The opportunity Are you a skilled project manager ready to make a national impact? Join the National Energy Analysis Centre (NEAC) as a Project Manager, where you’ll play a central role in delivering a portfolio of high‑impact projects that support Australia’s transition to a low-emissions energy future. In this role, you will work closely with the NEAC leadership and a cross‑disciplinary team to develop and manage project plans, ensure governance and compliance, and maintain a clear and cohesive operational roadmap. Essential high‑level duties include: Developing and maintaining NEAC’s operational plan and project portfolio. Implementing project controls to support delivery, learning, and risk management. Supporting proposal development, budgeting, and resource planning. Coordinating client engagement activities and tracking outcomes. Preparing reports to support governance and strategic decision‑making. Fostering strong internal and external relationships and a positive team culture. Upholding CSIRO’s values and commitment to safety, diversity, and sustainability. Role particulars Location: Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra or Perth preferred. Other locations with a CSIRO presence may be considered. Salary: AU$118k – AU$127k per annum (pro rata for part‑time), plus 15.4% superannuation. Tenure & work schedule: Full time; specified term until 31 December 2028. Options for part‑time, job‑share and flexible work arrangements can be discussed. Reference: . Essential qualifications Formal qualifications in project management and 5+ years’ experience managing digital or other large‑scale projects. Proven ability to lead programmes in dynamic, fast‑changing environments. Experience coordinating diverse teams and external partners for efficient delivery. Strong skills in budgeting, procurement, contract management, and reporting. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. A collaborative, agile mindset and a commitment to purpose‑driven work. Desirable qualifications Experience facilitating Agile or other project methodologies. Familiarity with research environments and compliance requirements. Knowledge of the Australian energy sector or climate policy landscape.
