Role Purpose You’ll be responsible for delivering high-standard painting and finishing work across various projects. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and requires someone who knows their trade, works clean, communicates well, and doesn’t cut corners. Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, washing down, patching, repairing timber/gyprock, and sealing as required. Remove old paint, wallpaper, or damaged finishes and restore surfaces to a paint‑ready condition. Mix paints, pigments, and additives to achieve the correct colour and consistency. Take accurate measurements to determine material quantities and project requirements. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, primers, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Set up and use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and drop sheets safely and correctly. Mask and protect fixtures, fittings, floors, cabinetry, and other non‑paint surfaces. Hang wallpaper, match patterns, and trim edges with precision. Inspect finished work, identify defects, and perform retouching or refinishing where needed. Maintain tools, brushes, spray guns, and equipment in clean, working condition. Follow safe work practices and contribute to maintaining tidy and hazard‑free work areas. Communicate clearly with clients and team members, providing updates and resolving minor site issues. Work efficiently to meet job schedules without sacrificing quality. Represent the company professionally on every site. Support additional maintenance or decorating tasks when required. What We’re Looking For Minimum 1 year of relevant professional painting experience (more is better; apprenticeship or onsite work counts). Solid understanding of prep work, surface repair, and proper application techniques. Someone reliable, consistent, and able to work well both independently and within a small team.
