Our vision is to be recognised as one of Australia’s leading golf clubs. The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Full‑Time Assistant Director of Golf to join our dedicated and close‑knit team. Reporting to the Director of Golf, the Assistant Director of Golf will play a front‑facing role, drive a positive team culture and be a key figure within the Club. With the course upgrade masterplan now being implemented, this is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is charismatic, has excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail and is prepared to support a dynamic and highly motivated team to deliver the highest level of service to its members and guests that will shape the next chapter of Newcastle Golf Club’s proud history. This is a full‑time role (38 hours per week), with rostered shifts across Monday to Sunday and opening (5.30am) and closing (7pm) times shared amongst the team. The position salary will be based on the applicant’s experience, qualifications and skill set. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the management of all golf operations, including the pro shop, practice facilities, cart fleet, and course. Supervise and train golf staff to ensure exceptional service and professionalism. Plan and coordinate club events and daily member competitions. Assist with managing inventory, ordering and maintaining golf merchandise. Maintain a positive and productive work environment for the golf staff. Handle member and guest enquiries and resolve any issues promptly and efficiently. Ensure compliance with all club policies and procedures. Administer and successfully execute corporate golf events and visiting tour groups. What We Are Looking For: Experience in a similar role within the golf industry. Strong knowledge of golf operations, event coordination and golf retail. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Highly organised and natural planner. Proficiency in golf shop operations and merchandising. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Experience working in a private golf club delivering high‑level customer service. Punctual, reliable and well presented. Why Join NGC?
