Position Overview Position Title: Piano Tutor Employment Basis: Part Time or Casual Pay Range: $48.00 - $63.00 per hour (Part Time) | Casual + 25% loading Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours per week (negotiated based on student enrolments) Anticipated Start Date: January 2026 The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Piano Tutor to join our dynamic Instrumental Music team. This role involves delivering quality music education aligned with the College’s values and inspiring students to develop their musical abilities in a positive and disciplined learning environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging piano lessons demonstrating sound technique and strong music literacy. Manage and motivate students to maximise learning outcomes and enjoyment. Prepare students for AMEB exams, Eisteddfods, and performance opportunities. Encourage participation in school ensembles and assist with repertoire preparation. Maintain accurate attendance records and arrange make-up lessons where possible. Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and students. Assist with school concerts, events, and actively promote the music programme. Selection Criteria Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of St Andrews Lutheran College. High-level piano performance and technical skills. Relevant qualifications in Piano or equivalent experience. Experience teaching piano to individuals and small groups. Ability to deliver engaging, development-focused lessons. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders. Performance skills on additional instruments (highly regarded). Enthusiastic, professional, and committed approach to teaching music.
