Job Title Gym Floor Attendant Location Merrylands, New South Wales About The Opportunity Located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country, Cumberland City Council is the fourth most populous Local Government Area in Greater Sydney. The council owns and operates five Aquatic and Leisure Centres across the LGA which provide aquatic, leisure and wellness programs and services to our community. As a Gym Floor Attendant you will support the health and wellbeing of the council community through the day‑to‑day operation of gyms, fitness programmes and wellness services. Qualifications Certificate III and IV in Fitness or equivalent Current Senior First Aid Certificate Current Working with Children Check Current Class C Driver’s Licence High level of interpersonal and member services skills in a fitness and leisure environment Hands‑on experience in developing and delivering fitness and wellness programs, services and classes Experience in conducting fitness testing for a broad range of clients, including those with special needs (e.g. rehabilitation and medical constraints) Ability to clean and maintain fitness equipment and basic gym hygiene Salary Information Grade 3 of the Cumberland Salary Structure – salary range $30.38 to $37.22 per hour (plus casual loading) and 12% superannuation Weekend penalty rates as per the Local Government Award Commencing salary will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience What You'll Need To Have For This Role The right to live and work in Australia Ability to provide information for pre‑employment checks and to attend a physical pre‑employment medical examination as required Participation in health monitoring as outlined in the council’s risk assessment and Health Monitoring Procedure What We Can Offer Training and professional development opportunities Health and Wellbeing Programs, including access to online learning, paid leave for annual skin checks, COVID‑19 vaccinations and blood donation Free access to council‑owned Aquatic Centres Access to the council’s Fitness Passport Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) About Us Council adheres to the principles of a child‑safe organisation and is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.
