About the Opportunity Council’s Aquatic and Leisure department sits within the Assets, Capital and Facilities business unit that forms part of the City Services directorate that focuses on and is responsible for the beautification of the Cumberland LGA. Cumberland City Council owns and operates five (5) Aquatic and Leisure Centres across the LGA which provide aquatic, leisure and wellness programmes and services to our community. In contributing to the overarching vision, the Gym Floor Attendant supports the contribution to the health and wellbeing of the Cumberland Council community by way of the provision and delivery of leisure and wellness services through the day‑to‑day operation of gyms, health, wellness and fitness programmes. Qualifications Certificate III and IV in Fitness or equivalent Current Senior First Aid Certificate Current Working with Children Check Current Class C Driver’s Licence High level of interpersonal and member services skills in a fitness and leisure environment Hands‑on experience in developing and delivering fitness and wellness programmes, services and classes Experience in conducting fitness testing for a broad range of clients and individuals including clients with special needs (e.g. rehabilitation and medical constraints) Ability to clean and maintain various pieces of fitness equipment and knowledge of basic gym hygiene About This Role Casual position Located at Council's Aquatic Centres, with occasional travel required across Council worksites; may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations Salary Information Grade 3 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $30.38 to $37.22 per hour (plus casual loading), plus 12% superannuation Weekend penalty rates apply in accordance with the Local Government Award The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role What You'll Need The right to live and work in Australia Be able to provide information for pre‑employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre‑employment medical examination as required Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required.
