Senior Unified Communications Engineer Contract Duration: 12 months (with extension options) Estimated Start Date: March 2026 Security Requirement: Active NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory) About the Opportunity Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Unified Communications Engineer to support a federal government ICT environment within a large‑scale telecommunications and infrastructure landscape. This role suits a senior UC specialist with strong hands‑on experience across voice, video, collaboration and VoIP technologies, combined with the ability to operate as a trusted technical advisor across both project and operational contexts. Regular on‑site presence in Canberra is required. Key Responsibilities Design, deploy and manage Unified Communications (UC) solutions across voice, video, collaboration and messaging platforms Act as the technical lead for UC solution design and implementation, ensuring scalability, security and reliability Document functional and technical requirements, detailed designs, and implementation plans Develop UC roadmaps in collaboration with architecture, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams Support and maintain telephony, PBX, softphones, mobile devices, and video conferencing environments Troubleshoot and resolve complex UC and infrastructure issues across production environments Create and maintain operational procedures, policies and technical documentation Contribute to continuous improvement, operational strategies and best practices Engage effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders and vendors Skills & Experience Required 10+ years’ experience designing, deploying and managing Unified Communications systems Strong expertise across enterprise telephony, voice, video, VoIP and collaboration platforms Proven ability to produce detailed technical designs and implementation documentation Highly developed diagnostic and problem‑solving skills Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience working effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams Experience in secure, enterprise or government environments (highly regarded) Exposure to ASD Essential 8 and ICT security accreditation processes (desirable) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, or a related field (preferred) Why Join Hatchit Studios Work on high‑impact federal government ICT programs Competitive market contractor rates Long‑term engagement with extension potential Partner with a respected Australian ICT consultancy with deep government delivery experience Seniority level : Mid‑Senior level Employment type : Contract Job function : Information Technology Industries : IT Services and IT Consulting, Government Administration #J-18808-Ljbffr
