About the role This role will assist with data governance by collecting and interpreting information asset metadata through excellent stakeholder management and technical skills. The role is responsible for data documentation and management to make data more accessible and understandable for a wide audience including data owners, providers, and business users. In particular, the successful applicant will : Lead projects that work closely with data owners / subject matter experts in the development of metadata, ensuring that the content is easily understood and unambiguous. Ensure changes to the business data environment are well defined, fit for purpose and that change is embedded well within impacted teams. Review, perform and document data lineage analysis of source to target system data streams. Define and document data lineage current state utilising appropriate tools to create data flow diagrams, context level diagrams, etc. Identify gaps and issues with projects or outputs and propose remediation solutions. Make recommendations in relation to strengthening data lineage methods, processes, and procedures. Work with technical teams to design and implement enhancements via business rules and processes to ensure accurate and reliable data. Confidence in working proactively, utilising own initiatives and ensuring early escalation of issues. Excellent stakeholder management and problem-resolution skills. Essential requirements of the role Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education. Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check). Hold the right to work in Australia.
