Commercial Manager

Description Description Join a club with history, heart, and ambition. The Brisbane Tigers are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Commercial Manager to lead the Club’s commercial growth. This role is responsible for managing and expanding our sponsorship portfolio, securing new partnership opportunities, overseeing the delivery of commercial agreements, and leading all grants and funding activity. Working closely with the CEO and key internal stakeholders, the Commercial Manager will play a vital role in growing revenue, strengthening partner relationships, and ensuring high-quality compliance and reporting across all agreements and grants. Key Responsibilities Commercial Growth & Partnerships Lead the Club’s commercial strategy in line with organisational objectives. Identify and secure new revenue streams including sponsorship, advertising, events and corporate programs. Build sales pipelines, develop proposals, and create tailored partnership packages. Conduct market research to uncover emerging opportunities. Lead negotiations and ensure strong commercial outcomes and deal structuring. Sponsorship Delivery, Reporting & Administration Manage the end-to-end delivery of all sponsorship agreements. Create and implement activation plans ensuring assets are delivered to a high standard. Maintain strong, proactive relationships with partners through regular communication and reporting. Coordinate match-day, digital and community activations across departments. Provide post-campaign reporting including KPIs, asset utilisation, audience metrics and ROI. Ensure compliance, renewals, invoicing, and accurate upkeep of CRM and sponsorship records. Prepare monthly commercial performance updates for the CEO / Board. Track revenue targets, contract progress, and partnership performance. Manage commercial and partnership budgets. Grants & Funding Management Identify, apply for and manage grants across sport, community, infrastructure, governance and high-performance programs. Maintain a grants calendar including deadlines, milestones and reporting requirements. Prepare high-quality submissions with supporting documentation and budgets. Oversee acquittals, progress reporting and compliance. Work with football, community and facility teams to scope grant-funded projects. Game Day & Events Coordinate sponsorship game-day activations, ensuring contracted assets are delivered seamlessly. Liaise with Operations / Game Day teams to execute signage, hospitality, PA, LED / screen content, on-field activations and acknowledgements. Host sponsors, corporate guests and VIPs to ensure an exceptional experience. Support the planning and delivery of major Club events such as season launches, corporate functions, community events and awards nights. Stakeholder & Brand Engagement Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, government, funding bodies and community organisations. Represent the Brisbane Tigers professionally at events and networking opportunities. Work with Marketing & Digital to maximise partner exposure and value through campaigns and collateral. Collaborate on initiatives that grow membership, merchandise and fan engagement. About You You’re a commercially savvy operator with strong relationship skills and a proven ability to generate revenue and deliver high-value partnerships. You thrive in a fast-paced sporting environment, can manage multiple priorities, and bring creativity to partner activation and value creation. Essential Skills & Attributes Proven commercial acumen and success in revenue generation. Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building capability. Excellent written and verbal communication, including proposal writing and presentations. High organisation, attention to detail, and deadline discipline. Demonstrated ability to manage sponsorships, grants and multiple projects concurrently. Professional, team‑oriented and proactive. Qualifications & Experience 2–3+ years’ experience in commercial, partnerships, sponsorship or grants roles. Degree in Business, Marketing, Sport Management, Communications or related field (desirable). Professional development in sales, sponsorship or grants (advantageous). Why Join the Brisbane Tigers?
