Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position Job Description Austin AUSTBORE™ offers both on and off-site repair and maintenance services to the mining and resources industry. They adhere to strict policies of precision and quality with all the work that they perform. They have the latest in mining technological equipment to ensure they meet customers’ guidelines and quality assurance with engineering design and FEA services and capabilities. Location Mackay, Queensland Responsibilities Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform the task at hand. Perform fabrication and repair works on various metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys. Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines. Perform the appropriate type of weld based on project needs and specifications. Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. Ensure fabrication and repairs are carried out using the proper safety guidelines to prevent rework jobs. Use a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools. Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets standard specifications. Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature. Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat‑resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Qualifications Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or Equivalent. Proficient in performing all welding, gouging, cutting or other duties. Post‑trade experience in the same field. Proactive attitude with the desire to work reliably as part of an outstanding team to deliver excellence for our clients. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints. Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys. Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools. Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work. Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Strong communication and reporting skills. Self‑motivated, organised, punctual and reliable. Must have great work ethics. Compensation Salary: Between $75,000 and $80,000 per annum + Super #J-18808-Ljbffr
