Security Specialist, Assistance – Australia & Pacific Join to apply for the Security Specialist, Assistance – Australia & Pacific role at International SOS About The Role Servicing corporate, governmental, and non-governmental clients globally, International SOS, a pioneer & leader in International Health & Security Risk provides tailored support through our 27 Assistance Centres worldwide. As a permanent full‑time role, the Security Specialist, Assistance will join a fast‑paced environment providing or supporting the delivery of professional and effective security assistance services for clients of International SOS by addressing security threats and risk challenges. As part of our organisation's mandate, our security teams provide support to major world crises from the 9/11 incident in New York to the war crisis in Ukraine and beyond. The role provides opportunities to work first hand in such global scenarios and in regional concerns. Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality security risk assessments, advice and coordination of security assistance on a profile and itinerary‑specific basis to travellers, international assignees, domestic nationals and client risk managers. Receive and assess all security‑related calls and ascertain the assistance requirements of International SOS clients. Give security advice to callers, employers, employees and organise appropriate security assistance accordingly. Contribute to operational readiness by carrying out tasking to maintain and develop the security provider network and internal Concepts of Operations. Coordinate and oversee responses to security requests for assistance, including the production of Plans of Action (POA) for specific Requests for Information (RFAs) as required. About You Proven experience in security intelligence or related field: military, NGO, journalism or similar is mandatory. Risk and Crisis management experience in geo‑political scenarios covering ANZ and Pacific regions. International work experience, including in more challenging risk environments, is desired. Experience working in a customer/client focused role, is desired. Requirements Strong knowledge of political and security landscape within Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands and global security issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to explain complex situations to non‑expert audiences. Ability to critically analyse multiple streams of information under time pressure. Demonstrated experience in the application of risk assessments. Minimum requirement of degree level (or relevant professional training) in a field related to security, risk management, international politics or international relations. Working Structure Rotating Roster, 13‑hour shifts, No Night Shifts Office based role located near Wynyard Station, Sydney. The Assistance Centre at International SOS ANZ Pty Ltd under the remit of International SOS Australasia Pty Ltd provides 24 hour international medical and travel assistance to our members when they are travelling or living overseas.
