We strive to ensure that every stage of the recruitment process and overall employee experience is accessible, welcoming and free from barriers About the Role The Senior Climate Risk Officer supports the Climate Change Risk Manager in embedding climate risk into DPIRD’s operations and broader risk management practices. This includes leading and contributing to projects that integrate climate risk into business processes, developing tools and resources, reporting, and engaging staff to build awareness and capability. The role also assists with the implementation of operational risk requirements under the Risk Management Framework, ensuring climate risk is considered alongside other enterprise risks. Key responsibilities include preparing documentation, analysing data to identify emerging issues, and supporting risk owners across the department. About You As our ideal candidate, you will have: Strong understanding of relevant State government climate change legislation, strategy, and policy. Demonstrated experience in project and system change management. Proven experience in risk management, including climate risk assessment, operationalisation, and integration into broader frameworks. Experience with adaptation planning is desirable. Ability to support the implementation of operational risk processes and contribute to continuous improvement across the Risk Management Framework. Extensive experience in stakeholder consultation, negotiation, and collaboration. Exceptional decision-making skills, accountable for quality and accurate advice.
