The Role Recent growth within the clinical trials, Haematology and Oncology division, has generated the need for a new team member. We are seeking a Clinical Trials Coordinator / Clinical Trials Nurse to work within the Clinical Trials Unit. This position is to support commercially funded trials. CTCs support current and upcoming trials by working with colleagues to ensure high quality of data collected and successful trial management. The CTC will work in collaboration with a dynamic multidisciplinary team. The CTC will be responsible for the coordination and management of Haematology and Oncology Clinical Trials involving liaison, patient education and coordination, administrative tasks relevant to clinical trial start‑up, conduct, close‑out and archiving with the ongoing objective of supporting PASO Medical’s strategic plan of achieving continued excellence in service provision. The CTC will also contribute to the development of our service. Duties Include Ensure clinical trial patients are registered, screened and recruited as per PASO Protocol and all aspects of clinical protocols and trials are correctly documented. Data Entry, Data Management and Preparation, Document Management and Preparation - including but not limited to protocols, ethics, patient information sheets and source documents. Support the Clinical Research Manager with site selection and trial budget preparation. Identify issues and areas for improvement within trials or projects, and recommend or implement appropriate actions to address them. Clinical tasks include but not limited to comprehensive nursing assessments, ECGs, vital signs, phlebotomy, providing clinical advice to patients. Undertake participant screening procedures and organise screening requirements as per trial specific protocol. Ensure timely ordering of necessary equipment. Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, trial sponsor representatives, trial organisers and other relevant personnel. Maintain patient, sponsor and departmental confidentiality at all times. Participate in special projects to continuously improve processes, tools and systems. Demonstrate understanding and adherence to PASO Values and Good Clinical Practice. Comply with OH&S legislation and operate in accordance with established OH&S practice and procedures at PASO Medical. Promote and contribute to a safe, secure environment for staff and visitors. Key Criteria Previous experience coordinating oncology clinical trials is essential. BSc., Nursing or equivalent degree is preferred. A sound level of competency in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office packages. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Robust organisational skills and attention to detail. Must be results oriented, multi-tasking, quick learner, respond to the urgent needs of the team and show a strong track record of meeting deadlines. Knowledge of patient confidentiality including the secure storage and handling of confidential information. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to be flexible and adaptable in line with changing organisational priorities.
