Social Support Volunteers - Leura and Wentworth Falls As part of the federally funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, compassionate, caring and friendly volunteers are needed to visit and provide social support with elderly residents in an aged care facility in the Leura, Wentworth Falls area. It is purely about social interaction, connection and conversation to provide joy and pleasure in the life of these residents. A commitment of at least one visit a fortnight is needed on an ongoing basis so a rapport and trust can be developed between the volunteer and the resident. The role is very flexible and no set time or day is needed, as long as a fortnightly visit can be met. Individuals who are willing to give a little bit of their time in conversation, who are reliable, patient and compassionate, and have a positive attitude for life are encouraged to apply. Role Details Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: 1 hour fortnightly/weekly Training: Training and orientation provided.
