Social Visiting Volunteers - Aged Care - Kalgoorlie Volunteer visitors are required for our aged care residential facility in Kalgoorlie, providing social support to residents from a range of backgrounds. Many of our residents have limited or no contact with family and friends, and a volunteer visitor can greatly reduce social isolation and increase quality of life. Volunteers are matched with a specific resident and then visit regularly (minimum fortnightly). Volunteer/resident matches are based on similar interests and general compatibility. Some of our clients are living with some degree of dementia and may have cognitive impairment or challenging behaviours. All such challenges will be discussed with volunteers before they are matched with a particular client, to make sure they are happy to proceed.
