Lead and inspire young people to re-engage in learning andachieve goals Shape a supportive school community where every studentfeels valued Make a real impact while growing your leadership in apurposeful, rewarding role About our role You will play a keyleadership role supporting the Principal to guide theschool’s vision, culture, and day-to-day operations.You’ll lead staff teams, maintain high-quality teaching andlearning through a trauma-informed practice lens, and champion asafe, supportive and engaging school environment for young people.This role also deputises for the Principal during periods ofabsence and may include some programmed teaching time. Your focusmay lean toward curriculum or student wellbeing depending on schoolneeds. *We have two positions available – one in ourmiddle school and one in our senior school* Your day-to-day will involve Lead and support staff teams through effective supervision,performance management, professional guidance andtrauma-informed practice. Strengthen student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement bybuilding trusted relationships, overseeing behaviourstrategies, and supporting individual learning and lifeneeds. Drive high-quality teaching and learning by monitoringcurriculum delivery, academic progress including QCE pathways,reporting requirements, and implementing evidence-basedpractices. Oversee key school operations including enrolments,attendance, assemblies, staff meetings, communications, camps,excursions and associated risk assessments. Ensure inclusive education practices, benchmark testing andNCCD compliance by guiding staff, documenting adjustments, andremoving barriers to learning for diverse student needs. Contribute to strategic school leadership throughparticipation in the School Leadership Team, policydevelopment, compliance oversight, and deputising for thePrincipal where required. About you You are an experienced,values-led educational leader with a genuine commitment tosupporting disengaged or at-risk young people. You bring stronginterpersonal and staff leadership skills, work collaborativelyusing a trauma-informed approach and confidently step into thePrincipal’s role when needed. You balance operational,wellbeing and curriculum priorities with ease, backed by excellentcommunication, relationship-building and problem-solvingcapability. In addition, Registered and qualified teacher Strong knowledge of education legislation, compliance andschool operations Demonstrated leadership experience in a sub-school orequivalent role Experience supervising staff, managing performance andbuilding cohesive teams Curriculum planning expertise across QCAA, ACARA, NSSAB andVET standards Experience with academic reporting, timetabling andmonitoring student progress Understanding of trauma-informed practice and behavioursupport (TCI preferred) The benefits of joining the Carinity team We’re part ofCarinity, a not-for-profit Christian organisation committed tocreating communities where people are loved, accepted and supportedto reach their full potential.
