Teacher - Undertaking Literacy Intervention Work Ipswich, QLD A$98,944-$128,013 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging On-site Posted 1 day ago Indie School Ipswich is seeking an experienced Teacher with a strong background and interest in literacy focused learning support. The successful candidate will have a passion for improving reading and writing outcomes for diverse learners and understand evidence-based literacy instruction. Experience delivering targeted interventions within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework would be an advantage. The Teacher, undertaking literacy and numeracy work will work closely with teachers and leadership teams to deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, build teacher capacity in Tier 1 practices, and support the development of a whole-school approach to literacy at Ipswich. Our highly experienced teaching team is supported by a Head of School, Education Support Assistants, and Welfare Officers. This position will commence in January 2026. Ensuring the most effective use of time and resources in the delivery of classes aligned to students’ individual learning and pathways plans. Promoting the school’s alternative educational and strengths based model to ensure student goals and personal outcomes are achieved with the focus on “Changing the Lives of Young People” Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities Teaching duties are aligned to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Key duties of the teacher may include but are not limited to: Writing curriculum that provides adjustments for students (this requires an understanding of QLD curricula; understanding of the QLD curriculum F-10 will be highly regarded). Planning, writing and delivering structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student. Embedding best practice pedagogy into lesson plans to engage students. Working collaboratively in a small team to implement feedback. Embracing opportunities to participate in coaching and mentoring programs. Supporting students with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness. This includes personalising the learning for individual students pursuant to the levels of adjustment of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). Collaborating to write Individual Learning Plans for all students. Embedding the strategies from Individual Learning Plans in lessons to support the needs of the student. Providing timely and specific feedback to students to support learning growth (particularly through formative assessment practices). Assessing and reporting student achievement and progress. Behaviour management (including an understanding of trauma-informed practice or a willingness to gain this knowledge). Building positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries. Supporting students to experience success.
