Position: Senior Project Officer - APS 6 Location: ACT (Onsite only) Estimated Start Date: April 2026 Contract Duration: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions Security Clearance: Must hold TSPV About the organisation The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is a statutory agency in the Defence portfolio that defends Australia against global threats and advances our national interests through the provision of foreign signals intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations as directed by the Australian Government. Job details Project Officers assist in the operations of a Project/Program/Portfolio Office and the delivery of projects. ASD will be delivering technical systems integration activities for ADF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. To enable this, ASD seeks an experienced Project Officer to assist with day-to-day operations and project delivery. The Project Officer will be a highly organised, dynamic, outcome orientated individual with excellent communication skills who is confident to break down large projects into discrete work packages from concept to delivery, for a diverse range of customers. They are responsible for supporting the implementation of projects, including defining the scope and requirements, developing plans and schedules, overseeing and planning resource allocation and work packages, managing risks and issues and communicating formally and informally on the project's progress. Candidates require a current AGSVA TSPV security clearance to perform the role. ASD will not sponsor candidates to upgrade their security clearances. Candidates must be willing to undergo ASD's Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist with project support tasks including the administration and coordination of project documentation. Accountable to contribute to the ongoing application of project planning and scheduling. Understand the reasons for decisions relating to project support and the broader impacts and implications of activities. Apply knowledge and experience of legislation, policies, strategies and team plans to project support work. Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member. Build and sustain productive working relations both internally and externally including capability development teams. Take the initiative to progress work to meet business objectives.
