Area Manager

The opportunity : We are on the lookout for an Area Manager to join our Footwear team across NSW & QLD, Reporting directly to the Head of Footwear, the Area Manager is responsible for driving sales, leading a thriving culture & developing people internally for future success This position will oversee a footprint Footwear retail stores and Concession network (approximately 23 stores) spread over Sydney and a few in QLD. These will include Hush Puppies & our Footwear Myer Concessions. In this role, you are a leader of leaders: driving, coaching and delivering exceptional retail management skills and standards for your region. You empower a culture of continuous improvement and innovation by recommending strategies to improve performance across sales, staff, stock & systems. To achieve the above, you : Reach KPI targets and ensure staff are aware & trained on the importance of store goals and how to achieve them Prepare monthly rosters costed to achieve store budgets Manage any escalated store or customer complaints if required ensuring they're dealt with promptly and professionally Manage all aspects of the employee life‑cycle including recruitment, onboarding and performance management Nurturing the growth & development of your direct reports to create a talent pipeline within our retail network Help to manage external relationships with department stores, centre management, etc. The skills and experience we are looking for : 3+ experienced years as an Area Manager in fashion apparel or footwear business Ability to independently travel as required to stores and the Alexandria Support Office Strong financial acumen, communication skills, and ability to coach / influence (getting your team to think commercially) People focused & Motivational Leadership qualities Ability to think on your feet & move with a sense of urgency Make decisions both as a team & independently Listen & be inclusive of team / peers Strong understanding of retail KPIs / metrics & industry standards.
