About YACWA The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) is the peak non-government youth organisation in Western Australia. YACWA operates primarily as a human rights organisation that seeks to address the exclusion of young people in a rapidly changing society. YACWA is widely respected and has a strong and diverse membership which includes policy makers, academics, youth workers and importantly, young people who are passionate about achieving positive and meaningful outcomes for the young people of Western Australia. About the Role The Sexuality, FIPV and other Projects Facilitator, leads the development and delivery of current, evidence based and co-designed educational content and resources for training, workshops and online communications for the Youth Educating Peers (YEP) and the All It Takes projects, for young people and the youth services sector. The YEP Project, funded by the Department of Health, supports and educates young people on relationships, sexual health, and blood-borne virus (SHBBV) issues. It does this by working in partnership with and building the capacity of the WA youth and health sectors to create change in young people’s sexual health behaviours. The All It Takes Primary Prevention Project, funded by the Department of Communities. supports young people and the sector through knowledge and capacity building social media content, resource development and training and workshop delivery to prevent and respond to the gendered drivers of violence against women. Educational content development and delivery for future programs or projects funded by other government line agencies, Lottery West or other funding bodies may be in scope for the Sexuality, FIPV and other Projects Facilitator. The role works with the Sexuality, FIPV and other Projects Coordinator and provides direct supervision and support to the Peer Educators, interns and youth consultants to ensure content and resources are developed and delivered in line with the projects’ key deliverables. The role supports data collection, evaluation and continuous improvement processes. The role leads the delivery of all training and workshops to young people and professionals across all projects, with support from the Coordinator and Peer Educators. The role ensures all training and workshop content is continuously updated to reflect current thinking and practice across the sexuality and FIPV sectors. The role also leads the development and posting of new content across all social media platforms and other forms of online engagement. Key Tasks Deliver YEP, AIT and other project training sessions and workshops to young people and the youth services sector. Provide ongoing support to and supervision of the Peer Educators, interns and youth consultants. Lead the development of training, workshop and online content, resources and activities for YEP, AIT and other projects. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure all content, resources and activities reflect current thinking and practice. Work with the Sexuality, FIPV and other Projects Coordinator to arrange the training calendar, including regional training and workshop arrangements. Support the Sexuality, FIPV and other Projects Coordinator in delivering successful Youth Reference Groups for all projects. Support planning, budgeting, evaluation and reporting activities for all projects/programs. Prepare for and attend expos, forums and conferences representing the projects and YACWA. Stay connected to emerging research and developments in practice and health service delivery to ensure currency of information and resources. Other duties as required. SELECTION CRITERIA Demonstrated experience delivering training and workshops in the youth, health or related fields. Demonstrated experience in developing training and workshop content and activities in the youth, health or related fields. Demonstrated experience leading staff, volunteers or young people as part of a service or project. An understanding of peer education and/or engagement models. Working knowledge of co-design principles and practices. Working knowledge of trauma-informed and person-centered approaches. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with young people and support their skill development. Demonstrated experience and skill in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders. Valid Working with Children Check & National Police Clearance. Reliable vehicle that can be used to travel throughout the metropolitan area. Capacity to undertake regional travel in WA as required. Specialist and current knowledge in SHBBV and/or FIPV primary prevention practices Qualifications in training development and delivery, youth work, sexology, health promotion or a similar field. Experience in developing social media campaigns and/or online content. Demonstrated experience engaging with young people from target communities including Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander young people, culturally & linguistically diverse young people, young people in out-of-home care and/or juvenile justice settings, gender and sexually diverse young people and young people with disabilities. Strong understanding of the youth, FIPV and sexual health services sectors. Experience in developing, delivering and engaging with data collection and evaluation processes.
