About the opportunity The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The University of Sydney (Sydney, Australia) invites applications for several academic positions at all levels with demonstrable strong research experience in, but not limited to, the following areas: core disciplines of chemical engineering, particularly process engineering design sustainability, environmental engineering, or emerging areas such as green chemistry catalysis, advanced materials and nanotechnology, energy technologies bioprocessing and synthetic biology, food and health-related processing resource extraction, circular economy and recycling All positions are full‑time, continuing (tenure‑track), teaching and research roles based in Sydney. Successful applicants will join a group of enthusiastic, highly research‑active and collegiate academics who deliver a world class education to our undergraduate and postgraduate students. They will have an excellent research record, be able to teach in a range of courses, and will complement the core areas of strength in the School and push the frontiers to new research areas. The role offers strong opportunities for collaboration with world‑class researchers and University key partners, including the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator. You will develop an independent research program and engage in collaborations within and outside the University, including with industry partners. You will contribute to curriculum development and delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contribute to leadership of the School / Faculty. Qualifications a PhD in a relevant field; applicants who have submitted their PhD for examination or will do so in the immediate future can be considered a strong track record in research appropriate to the discipline and level of appointment (relative to opportunity and taking career disruptions into account) computational skills including Aspen Plus, HYSYS, control theory, simulation, SCADA systems, and basic programming ability to teach, engage, and support the learning of students using innovative and modern pedagogies, including the organisation and delivery of a unit of study Outstanding communication skills and collegiality high‑level problem‑solving skills with the ability to address complex issues as they arise The School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering seeks to increase the gender equity and diversity of its academic staff and strongly encourages women and candidates from under‑represented groups in Engineering to apply.
