Overview Sales Representative Trainee (Melbourne, Australia) The Musco Australia Sales Team has an opening for a Sales Representative Trainee based in the Greater Melbourne Area. The Sales Representative Trainee serves as the initial phase in our sales training program, aimed at developing proficient sales representatives for the Australian market. In this role, you will acquire knowledge of Musco's systems and sales strategy, while actively engaging in sales initiatives, client interactions, and contributing to project tasks. This practical experience is structured to prepare you for a successful transition to a Sales Representative Role. Essential Criteria Must have work authorization in Australia, be an Australian citizen or hold permanent residency in Australia Ability and willingness to attend in-person training for an extended amount of time. Training is held at our Corporate Headquarters located in Oskaloosa, Iowa (United States) Entry-level university graduate with 0-3 years of previous work experience University degree in Sports Management, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Business, or a related field Passion for selling and building trusting relationships with customers Strong interpersonal and communication skills Self-disciplined and able to work independently to achieve results Tenacious, able to persevere through sales challenges and setbacks Innovative problem-solving with a team-oriented mindset Ability to travel up to 50% Roles and Responsibilities Engage in a structured learning program to understand the market dynamics, Musco's products, and sales strategy Participate in customer meetings and internal training sessions to learn the process of qualifying projects and understand customer needs Conduct outreach initiatives, such as cold calling and networking, under guidance to develop communication and sales skills Assist in developing educational strategies for various customer segments to gain insights into effective customer engagement Learn to effectively present and advocate for Musco's products and services by shadowing experienced sales personnel Collaborate with the internal team to support customer needs and contribute to team initiatives, gaining an understanding of the sales support process Engage in market research activities to understand the factors influencing sales and product success in the market Support Sales Management in strategic planning and operational tasks to gain perspectives on sales management Participate in tradeshows and conferences, assisting in promotional activities and market engagement under supervision Prepare for progression to a Sales Representative role by adopting and practicing effective sales strategies and customer engagement techniques About Musco Musco, a privately held company since 1976, is the global leader in sports and large-area lighting solutions, with projects in 135 countries.
