Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. About the Opportunity This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to leverage their existing skills and make a meaningful contribution in the rewarding field of mental health. You will join a supportive, collaborative multidisciplinary team on the older adult mental health unit, Miri Miri, at Wyong Hospital. In this role, you will apply advanced clinical expertise to deliver recovery-focused assessment and intervention for older adults with diverse mental health and functional needs. You will lead by example; providing expert guidance, mentoring junior staff, and championing the growth and visibility of Occupational Therapy within the mental health setting. With a strong emphasis on functional assessment, therapeutic group and individual interventions, and consumer-centred care planning, this role is ideal for clinicians seeking to broaden their scope, embrace leadership responsibilities, and make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals, families and carers. About You Current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board (AHPRA), and a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). Advanced clinical skills and experience working as an Occupational Therapist, conducting functional assessments and developing therapeutic care plans to address these needs. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Committed to teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
