Maintenance Supervisor

We’re seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to help maintain the presentation, safety and operational readiness of all buildings, facilities and grounds across Marnong Estate. Position Overview The Estate Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the presentation, safety and operational readiness of all buildings, facilities and grounds across Marnong Estate. This role plays a key part in maintaining a high-quality environment that supports both exceptional guest experience and seamless operational performance. The Estate Maintenance Supervisor plans and completes maintenance tasks, coordinates contractors when required, and communicates regularly with internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance needs are prioritised and resolved promptly. Key Responsibilities Maintenance Management Complete daily maintenance tasks across accommodation, public areas, dining venues, event spaces, operational back-of-house areas and outdoor precincts. Plan and monitor routine and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and prolong asset life. Prioritise and action maintenance requests in a timely and effective manner. Maintain and account for tools, consumables and equipment required for maintenance operations. Coordinate and supervise external trades when works cannot be completed in-house. Obtain competitive quotes and ensure a strong balance of cost effectiveness, quality workmanship and clear communication. Ensure all contractor works meet Marnong Estate standards and compliance requirements. Quality & Safety Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify and address maintenance concerns. Ensure maintenance activities adhere to workplace safety guidelines and legislative requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, servicing and inspection outcomes. Act as the primary point of contact for all maintenance-related matters across the Estate, ensuring clear and timely communication with all internal departments and external contractors. Ensure routine servicing and preventative maintenance of all equipment and operational assets remains up to date (including, but not limited to air‑conditioning units, commercial dishwashers, glasswashers, post‑mix systems, beer lines, fire safety equipment and other venue equipment). Book, track and follow up all servicing requirements, ensuring service logs and maintenance records are kept current and accurate. Schedule trades and servicing strategically to align with existing maintenance windows wherever possible, reducing unnecessary call‑out fees and unplanned operational disruption. Maintain a proactive approach to identifying upcoming servicing deadlines and initiating procedures in advance. Work closely with the Accommodation Manager and other department heads to ensure maintenance priorities support business needs. Communicate regularly with the Events Team to ensure venues are prepared and maintained to support premium functions and guest experiences. Provide clear updates on timeframes and task progress to relevant internal stakeholders. Roster & Availability The position operates on a rotating and flexible roster aligned with business needs. Weekend work will be required, particularly during peak operational periods and events. Start and finish times may vary to support operational requirements across the Estate. Reasonable overtime may be required during high-demand periods, with notice provided wherever possible. Qualifications & Skills Experience in facility, property or general maintenance (hospitality environment desirable but not essential). A trade qualification or relevant technical certification is preferred but not essential. Practical knowledge of general trades, building services or equipment maintenance. High attention to detail with strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and maintain productivity in a dynamic environment.
