Further information about Maranatha Christian School is available on our website ABOUT THE POSITION We have an exciting opportunity for a School Counsellor to join the Wellbeing team at Endeavour Hills. This role provides evidence-based Christian counselling services to enhance the learning, development and wellbeing of our students from ELC to Year 12. The School Counsellor will provide individual and group counselling to students and collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to support student wellbeing and academic success. The role will involve conducting risk and mental health assessments and develop strategies to meet counselling goals while ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting obligations under Victorian legislation. The School Counsellor will be tasked with developing and implementing student wellbeing programs and initiatives to promote resilience and positive relationships. This is a part‑time 0.4 FTE across three to five days per week, ongoing role, reporting to the School Psychologist. It is an opportunity to join an excellent team that invests into the wellbeing of the School community. ABOUT THE PERSON The successful candidate must hold a Post Graduate Qualification in either Counselling, Psychology or Social work and be registered with the appropriate governing or professional body. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the ethical frameworks and industry professional standards. Experience working in an educational setting and managing complex student needs will be highly regarded. The person we are looking for will exhibit the following attributes: Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based counselling and support to children and adolescents. Proficient knowledge of risk and harm management, including Victorian mandatory reporting laws. Excellent written, verbal, and non‑verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Share a personal alignment with the ethos of the School.
