Sales Administrator – Building

Join a fast-growing steel fabrication company and build a long-term career in sales & business development. Milkon Steel is a leading structural steel fabrication and installation company delivering commercial and domestic projects across Victoria. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a motivated Sales Administrator who understands the building industry and wants to progress into client outreach and business development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, communication, and working with builders — and wants a clear pathway into a sales/BD role with full training. What you’ll be doing Sales Administration (core duties) Managing incoming builder enquiries and requests Preparing quotes, proposals, and job documentation Coordinating project details between estimating, drafting, and site teams Updating the CRM and maintaining accurate sales records Assisting with tender submissions and document pack preparation Supporting the managing director with client follow-ups and scheduling Training & Growth (BDM pathway) Learning how to conduct outreach to builders, contractors, and key stakeholders Shadowing our team on sales calls, builder meetings, and new project onboarding Gradually taking ownership of outbound calls, relationship building, and lead generationO Building confidence in identifying new commercial and domestic project opportunities Progressing toward a Business Development role based on performance About you You’ll be a great fit if you have: Experience in the domestic or commercial building industry (non-negotiable) – e.g., estimating admin, scheduling, construction admin, drafting admin, supplier/sales admin, customer service in trade/construction Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Confidence speaking with builders, suppliers, and subcontractors A willingness to learn sales and outreach (full training provided) Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast‑paced environment A positive, proactive attitude and a team‑player mindset What we offer $60,000 – $75,000 salary depending on experience Clear career pathway into Business Development (6–18 months) Training in sales, outreach, CRM tools, project onboarding & client management Work directly with Milkon Steel’s leadership team Supportive, fun, and down‑to‑earth culture Long‑term job security in a growing company On‑site parking and modern facilities Why Milkon Steel?
