Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs. Our main services are in Wellington, Dubbo, Moree, Western Sydney, Penrith, Nepean, and Blue Mountains, and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs. Location:- Wellington (NSW) Multiple Positions :- 2 X men's program & 2 X women's program About the Role: The Aboriginal Family Wellbeing Worker supports Aboriginal men and women pre and postrelease through the Justice Our Way (JOW) Program. The role provides holistic, culturally safe, and trauma-informed case management focused on healing, connection to culture, and community reintegration. It involves delivering wraparound support, facilitating access to health and wellbeing services, and strengthening family and cultural ties to reduce recidivism and promote long-term wellbeing. Key responsibilities but not limited to: Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, and holistic case management to incarcerated and post-release Aboriginal clients. Support clients with health, wellbeing, child and family healthcare, and restoration services. Conduct comprehensive case management including assessment, planning, coordination, and referrals. Engage clients pre and post release to ensure consistent throughcare and ongoing support. Address complex and interrelated needs including alcohol and other drug use, family and domestic violence, trauma, homelessness, and mental health. Promote healing and wellbeing through education, coaching, emotional support, and practical assistance. Facilitate warm referrals and link clients to internal programs and external services. Support reconnection to culture, family, community, and country as key protective and healing factors. Deliver family support services that are trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. Collaborate with key stakeholders including Corrections NSW, DFV networks, JH&FMHN, and ECAV SAW/SAM facilitators to ensure coordinated service delivery. Maintain accurate, confidential case notes, assessments, and data for reporting and evaluation. Participate in program evaluation activities including Action Research and Community of Practice initiatives. Attend training and professional development to enhance service delivery and practice. Undertake other duties as directed by the line manager to support program goals. Experience, Qualifications & Licenses: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Excellent verbal and written communication Proven track record of working with Aboriginal communities, conducting outreach and educational activities. Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines Understanding and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic factors affecting diverse populations. Experience delivering trauma-informed and therapeutic support to families impacted by domestic and family violence. Certificate Cert IV Aboriginal Family Health or willingness to obtain.
