As part of the Financial Accounting team within the Financial Services & Rates Business Unit, the Grants Officer plays a key role in managing the City’s diverse external grants portfolio—valued at approximately $100 million annually. Acting as a central liaison between the City and external funding bodies, this role ensures the timely, accurate, and compliant flow of information across all stages of the grants lifecycle, from applications and agreements through to reporting and acquittals. We are currently looking for someone that would be interested in taking on a fixed term full time role as Grants Officer until 31 January 2029. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the City’s external grants register and ensure data accuracy. Implement, monitor, and enhance grant-related policies and processes to support efficient grant management. Communicate milestone and reporting requirements to internal stakeholders and support them in meeting compliance obligations. Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant variations, progress reports, and acquittals. Work closely with Finance team to analyse grant funding (actuals and pipeline), contributing to key organisational deliverables including the Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget, Annual Financial Statements, mid-year budget review, and revenue strategies. As a collaborative team member, the Grants Officer will also support the Senior Accountant – Accounts and Grants and the Senior Grants Officer in reviewing and improving processes to strengthen the City’s overall grants management framework. The successful candidate will have the following: Certificate IV in relevant discipline Demonstrated experience in a similar position, particularly with exposure to grant making and / or grant management Sound written and verbal communication skills and strong relationship management skills Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail A satisfactory National Police Certificate About working with us: The salary for this position will be from $84,485.93 - $100,282.66 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
