About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented General Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance with BAS and ATO obligations, and supporting our operational and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the leadership and admissions teams to ensure financial transparency, support audits, and streamline reporting across platforms including Xero and our Student Management System (RTO Manager). Key Responsibilities Prepare and present accurate monthly financial statements and reconciliations in Xero. Record and report student payments and agent commissions in RTO Manager. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including overdue account reporting. Prepare data and reports for BAS submissions and other ATO requirements. Analyse profit and loss variances and prepare management reports. Coordinate commission payments with education agents. Maintain effective internal control systems and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Oversee payroll processing, including PAYG, superannuation, and leave accruals. Support audit processes and assist with compliance documentation. Skills & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting standards. Proficiency in Xero and experience using Student Management Systems. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of the international education sector will be an advantage. Performance Objectives Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting. Meet all statutory and internal reporting deadlines.
