About the Role We are seeking an experienced IT Course Coordinator to oversee the academic delivery, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of our Information Technology programs. This role combines academic leadership, course coordination, and hands‑on teaching to ensure an engaging and professionally relevant learning experience for students. Working closely with senior academic staff, the IT Course Coordinator will monitor course delivery, support staff development, maintain compliance with higher education standards, and contribute to the ongoing growth and academic reputation of the Institute. Key Responsibilities Course Leadership & Quality Assurance Guide and oversee the delivery of IT courses, ensuring a high‑quality teaching and learning environment. Monitor the effectiveness of teaching practices, assessment standards, and academic support systems. Ensure academic policies are implemented, regularly reviewed, and improved. Academic Governance & Institute Contribution Actively participate in academic committees, contributing to program growth and institutional development. Support the Dean in maintaining the course review cycle, accreditation processes, and quality assurance requirements. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery Teach across core IT subjects such as programming, networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data management, and IT project management. Deliver lectures, tutorials, labs, and online sessions using contemporary teaching methodologies. Prepare subject materials, assessments, and learning activities aligned with current IT industry trends. Student Experience & Retention Implement strategies to enhance student engagement, progression, and success. Monitor student achievement and provide support, feedback, and interventions for at‑risk learners. Foster a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment. Staff Support & Professional Development Support and mentor academic staff, ensuring effective teaching practices and professional growth. Monitor scholarly activity needs and actively engage in internal and external professional development opportunities. Contribute to creating a collegial, respectful, and cooperative academic workplace. Resource & Infrastructure Oversight Evaluate the adequacy of learning resources, digital tools, and facilities to ensure alignment with course outcomes. Recommend improvements to support student learning and staff effectiveness. Part‑time or Full‑time Location: Sydney, Australia About You Academic & Professional Standing Demonstrated reputation as an academic coordinator or leader in higher education. Strong discipline expertise with evidence of ongoing scholarship or professional practice in IT. Awareness of current industry developments, technologies, and workforce trends. Qualifications Doctoral qualification (PhD, Professional Doctorate) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (essential). Management & Coordination Experience Proven experience in academic administration within higher education. Demonstrated success in implementing strategies that support teaching excellence and student achievement. Experience coordinating subjects, assessments, and academic teams. Personal Skills & Attributes Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire, guide, and influence staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting to diverse audiences. High‑level interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative working relationships. Understanding of higher education at both national and international levels, including regulatory and industry contexts. Knowledge and ability to implement principles relating to equity, anti‑discrimination, WHS, and inclusive education. Commitment to professional integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
