As our highly valued Senior Desktop Support Officer based in Brisbane you will lead the technical capability within the Desktop Support Team and play a key role in ensuring Great Southern Bank staff have reliable access to the tools and technologies they need to perform their roles effectively. You will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and asset lifecycle management of end-user computing technologies across the bank, including laptops, desktop computers, virtual desktops, printers, meeting room technologies, and other end-user devices. You’ll also champion modern workplace best practices and help drive better adoption of our Microsoft 365 and end‑user compute technologies, ensuring our people get the most value from the tools we invest in. You’ll make an impact by : In this role, you will make a direct and visible impact on the productivity and engagement of GreatSouthern Bank staff by ensuring they have access to reliable, high‑performing, and well‑supported technology. Your expertise and leadership will help drive consistency, efficiency, and innovation in how end‑user technologies are delivered and supported across the organisation. Provide second‑level support for end‑user IT software and hardware requests and be an escalation point for complex technical issues. Deliver technology support services from designated walk‑up venues. Provide remote support to all Great Southern Bank office and branch locations with occasional travel as required. Support employee onboarding with the initial setup and configuration of laptops, software and peripherals for new starters. Lead the practice for maintaining operating system and application updates through packaging and regular deployment of patches using technologies like Microsoft SCCM and Endpoint Manager (Intune). Support printer and meeting room technologies, working closely with external vendors. Required Maintain hardware and software asset details across the asset lifecycle. Manage incidents, requests and changes through to completion within a centralised IT Service Management system – ServiceNow. Proactively identify recurring issues and trends and actively participate in the development of service improvements. Drive uplift in modern workplace capability by promoting the effective use of Microsoft 365 and end‑user compute tools, contributing to improved digital adoption and smarter ways of working. Drive ongoing improvements in technical capability within the Desktop Support and IT Service Desk teams through the delivery of training, and development of documentation and Knowledge Base articles. Ensure processes are well documented, including Knowledge Base articles that can be used either for self‑service or to assist the level 1 Technology Service Desk team. Work with project teams, partners and business stakeholders to develop recommendations on hardware replacements, software changes and ideas for new technical solutions. Deliver a great customer service experience through friendly and professional communication. Do things differently with us To succeed in this role, you will have : 3+ years previous IT service and support experience, particularly across the following areas : Supporting a Windows 10 end‑user desktop environment. Supporting and fixing hardware issues including laptops, desktops and printers. Using device management technologies like SCCM and / or Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune).
