Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, repairing cracks, and applying primers or sealants to ensure high-quality finishes. Mix and match paints, stains, varnishes, and coatings to achieve accurate colours and textures as required for each project. Apply paint using a range of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and specialised coating equipment. Handle both internal and external painting tasks across residential and commercial construction projects. Perform protective coating work on various surfaces, including timber, concrete, metal frameworks, and cladding. Install and remove protective coverings, masking materials, and safety barriers to ensure clean and precise work. Maintain and clean equipment, tools, and work areas to uphold safety and quality standards. Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with the project plan and Pengyu Build-up’s quality expectations.li> Collaborate with builders, carpenters, and other tradespeople to coordinate workflow and meet project timelines. Follow all workplace safety guidelines, using appropriate PPE and handling materials responsibly according to regulations. What you should have: Formal qualification or proven experience as a Painter, ideally in residential or commercial construction. Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint types, application techniques, and finishes. Familiarity with Australian standards and safe work practices relevant to painting and construction. Ability to operate painting tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively. Great attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment. Safety-conscious mindset with experience working in construction sites and adhering to WHS procedures. Desired Skills and Attributes: Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous professional improvement. Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the broader team when needed. Friendly and professional demeanour when interacting with colleagues and clients. Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.
