Council of the City of Sydney, Österreich LUZ ALL ABILITIES Vollzeit

Position Overview We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated Social Worker to join the Luz All Abilities team in a full‑time position. In this role, you’ll deliver person‑centred social work services that promote the emotional, social and developmental wellbeing of individuals with diverse needs, across all stages of life. Benefits Remuneration will be AU$75,000–78,000 per annum plus superannuation. Responsibilities Assess the social, emotional and developmental needs of participants with diverse abilities across childhood into adulthood, in a one‑on‑one program format. Conduct case interviews and gather background information from participants, families and carers to identify strengths, support needs and risks. Collaborate with coaches, therapists, parents and community stakeholders to design individualised support plans aimed at maximising participants’ abilities and inclusion. Facilitate access to appropriate services and resources (health, educational, community, recreational) and act as liaison between families/participants and external agencies. Provide ongoing counselling, advocacy and support to participants and their families or carers, addressing issues such as social isolation, inclusion, behavioural adjustment, self‑esteem and community participation. Monitor participant progress and modify support strategies as required to reflect evolving needs, goals and outcomes. Maintain comprehensive case records, reports and documentation of interventions, outcomes and referrals in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements. Promote social justice, rights‑based approaches and inclusion by supporting participants to self‑advocate, build social networks and engage in community opportunities. Work within the multidisciplinary team of coaches, therapists and educators to coordinate holistic support, share information and contribute to program development. Contribute to organisational development by identifying service gaps, participating in pilot initiatives or improvements, and recommending changes to the program to better meet participant and community needs. Deliver group or individual sessions (where appropriate) to support life‑skills, social skills, transition planning (e.g., from childhood to adulthood) and community integration. Ensure that service delivery aligns with the organisation’s philosophy of shifting focus from disability to ability, fostering empowerment, belonging and participation. Undertake risk assessment and risk‑management planning for participants in consultation with carers, therapists and community services, ensuring safe and inclusive participation environments. Provide training or mentoring to less experienced staff or volunteers (if applicable) on best‑practice social work approaches, inclusive practice and participant‑centred planning. Participate in organisational review processes, supervision, professional development, and contribute to the continuous improvement of service quality and outcomes. Qualifications and Experience At least a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, preferably a Master’s degree in Social Work. At least 12 months of demonstrated experience providing social work or equivalent support services to individuals with diverse or complex needs in a centre‑based program setting. Proven ability to apply person‑centred and strengths‑based approaches in casework and to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to engage with individuals, families and external stakeholders in a culturally sensitive and inclusive manner. Strong organisational skills with experience in maintaining accurate documentation and case records in line with ethical and professional standards. A valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
