About the Role The Undermanager is responsible for monitoring statutory compliance with current mining legislation and the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS). Key responsibilities will include: Demonstrate personal compliance to all elements of the Mine Operating System (MOS) including disciplined planning, delivery, accountability and urgency. Establish and maintain statutory compliance to relevant legislation and the Sojitz SHMS across the mine. Supporting the Underground Mine Manager to Control and manage mining activities being undertaken at the mine on the appointed shift. Monitoring daily and weekly mining plans and ensuring plans are executed to the highest possible standard. Lead, coach and mentor ERZ Controllers / Deputies and other coal mine workers. You will need: Current QLD 1st or 2nd Class Certificate of Competency (Undermanager), or NSW mutual recognition qualification; and Demonstratable experience in underground coal mining. Strong management and leadership capability. Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
