Our water and wastewater process engineers are involved in the complete water, wastewater and recycled water treatment project life cycle, from investigations and planning studies to design, construction assistance, commissioning and operations support throughout Australia and the Pacific. We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer with a passion for water or wastewater to join our thriving team in Melbourne. Responsibilities Become an integral and reliable member of our wastewater and/or water treatment technical teams Undertake process reviews, investigations and designs of wastewater and/or water treatment plants Develop and maintain trusted long-term relationships with our clients Collaborate with multidiscipline teams to secure, manage and deliver projects Remain at the forefront of technological developments, research and industry best practice Qualifications Chartered Professional Engineer (or working towards chartered status) and hold a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or closely related engineering discipline Strong understanding of water/wastewater industry standards and best practices A strong chemical and/or environmental engineering background in the municipal water/wastewater industry Municipal water/wastewater project experience Experience undertaking and leading investigations, options assessments and design of municipal treatment plants Experience in an operational water or wastewater treatment environment (operations role or significant on-site consultancy/contractor work) Knowledge of industry policies, standards, research, developments and market trends Strong verbal communication skills and ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations Willingness to mentor and develop more junior colleagues Ability to work autonomously and within a team, with a client-focused approach and track record of building long-term client relationships Willingness and ability to travel to meet work requirements What we offer Flexibility & Wellbeing: Flexible working options to manage personal and family priorities, with dedicated wellbeing and community leave Belonging & Ownership: A diverse and inclusive team environment with opportunities to share in our collective success Parental Leave: Up to 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave, inclusive of all genders Career Growth & Development: Ongoing learning through training programmes and support for professional accreditation, including pathways to Chartership with Engineers Australia; mentorship from our process engineering team Beca prides itself on supporting a diverse and inclusive culture – open to inputs from creative people of all genders, ethnicities, identities, thoughts and experiences.
