Manager - Tax Controversy

Job Overview KPMG Law’s nationally recognised Tax Dispute Resolution and Controversy team invites experienced lawyers with over six years of advisory, Big 4, law firm or Government experience to join our dynamic growing team. The role is open to full‑time and part‑time applicants and offers flexible working models. Responsibilities Prepare clients for and resolve risk reviews, audits and disputes with the ATO, AusIndustry and State/Territory revenue authorities, including complex ATO audits, objections, briefing counsel and advising on audits, independent reviews and tax litigation. Work with a range of clients and specialists across KPMG Law and KPMG to develop written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice (taxation law and administrative law). Collaborate nationally and across jurisdictions, partnering with colleagues from other states. Collaborate with specialist groups across KPMG’s Deals, Tax & Legal practice in Australia and internationally. Your Experience & Qualifications Previous experience in corporate tax, international tax, tax law and/or tax dispute resolution / controversy in a Big 4 professional services firm, law firm or the Australian Taxation Office. Ability to deliver fully integrated solutions and make decisions to best meet client needs, collaborating as required across KPMG’s Tax & Legal practice. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in the delivery of quality services, providing value‑add solutions to client problems. Strong interpersonal, influencing and project‑management skills, and an ability to motivate and work as part of a high‑performing team. Ability to develop strong client relations and proactively deepen those relationships. Commitment to support firm and practice training by providing knowledge for development and delivery of training. Honest and ethical approach to business, aligning with our values. Australian and/or other Commonwealth country legal experience. Must have a Law Degree to be eligible for this role. Additional Information Applications will close on 20th November 2025.
