Our busy dynamic and growing team are looking for lawyers who have experience in tax law and tax disputes. Candidates with over 8 years experience in an advisory firm Big 4 traditional law firms or Government are invited to apply. Your Opportunity Joining KPMG Law you will have the opportunity to be a key part of our growing team - who advise a broad range of clients including large multinationals the Top 5000 taxpayer population high wealth individuals and respected clients on the many domestic and cross-border tax issues they are dealing with in what is a rapidly changing world. The role will involve : Working with our clients in preparing for and resolving their risk reviews, audits and disputes with the ATO, AusIndustry, State / Territory revenue authorities including working on complex ATO audits, preparing objections, briefing counsel and advising clients on ATO Risk Reviews Audits, Independent Reviews and tax litigation. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of clients and specialists across KPMG Law and KPMG to develop your written and oral advocacy skills and provide legal advice (including taxation law and administrative law). KPMG Laws Tax Dispute Resolution & Controversy team works nationally on most engagements so all team members have an opportunity to work across all jurisdictions with partners and team members from other states. Collaboration with many other specialist groups across KPMG's Deals, Tax & Legal practice in Australia as well as internationally (many clients are multinationals) is also a feature of many of the team's engagements. To be considered for this opportunity your qualifications, skills & experience could include : previous experience in corporate tax, international tax, tax law and/or tax dispute resolution and controversy in either a Big 4 professional services firm, law firm or the Australian Taxation Office with prior Big 4 experience viewed favourably ability to quickly establish a high level of stakeholder engagement and be an advisor to the business and an expert on a topical area(s) of tax law ability to integrate information from a variety of sources, consider the broader impact of issues and how it will affect the project engagement and the business strong interpersonal, influencing and project management skills as well as an ability to motivate and work as part of a high‑performing team to achieve outcomes ability to enable career progression for high‑potential people by identifying development needs and providing guidance and knowledge to assist those people to further increase their skill set; ability to lead on people initiatives and role‑model our values in all aspects of work an honest and ethical approach to business which will provide a natural fit with our values Australian and/or other Commonwealth country legal experience Qualifications You must have a Law Degree to be eligible for this role.
