About The Role Take a leading role in transforming financial operations as an APS6 – EL1 Data & Database Administration. In this role, you will drive the in-house delivery of finance, payroll, and systems services, provide expert advice, lead strategic initiatives, and build a modern, efficient, and culturally safe financial operations function. You will also mentor staff and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure excellence in service delivery. Support transition of financial operations to an in-house model through effective database management. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and service frameworks for database operations. Provide expert advice on data management, reporting, and systems processes to support operational objectives. Manage accounts, vendor/customer data, payroll records, and related financial information within databases. Support audit readiness and ensure compliance with data-related legislation and policies. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve data accuracy and reporting. Assist with strategic briefs, policy development, and communication relating to data systems. Foster a culturally safe and inclusive team environment while promoting best practice in data management. Experience & Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Finance, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in database administration, financial data management, or systems operations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-focused decision-making skills. Proven ability to manage complex internal and external data relationships. Delegate’s approval (required). EL1 Financial Operations Assistant Director – Data & Database Administration Positions Available: Multiple Responsibilities Lead and manage the Data & Database Administration team to deliver high-quality database and data management outcomes. Provide strategic leadership and expert advice on financial systems, databases, and reporting processes. Oversee the transition of financial operations services in-house, driving process improvement for database management. Manage strategic delivery of database-related projects, programs, and initiatives. Ensure audit readiness, risk management, and quality assurance in data handling and database operations.
