ArkLED is a leading Australian lighting consultancy and supplier specialising in luxury hospitality, premium residential, commercial, government, and institutional projects. We partner with top-tier developers, architects, interior designers, and builders to deliver custom lighting solutions, including advanced linear systems, bespoke luminaires, downlights, and integrated architectural lighting. Our completed work includes landmark projects such as Capella Sandstone, Wyndham Law Courts, Footscray Hospital, The Ritz‑Carlton (Atria), multiple Gurner Group developments, and the ongoing One Circular Quay project. Role Overview The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships, and managing key accounts across the architectural, construction, and design sectors. The BDM will work closely with the Director and project team to position ArkLED as the lighting partner of choice for high‑end projects nationwide. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across hospitality, residential, commercial, and government sectors; develop and maintain a strong pipeline of lighting projects; conduct sales presentations, design meetings, and product demonstrations; prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and tender responses; track and achieve quarterly sales targets. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long‑term relationships with major accounts, providing ongoing support, technical guidance, and project follow‑up; become the primary point of contact for key clients such as Gurner Group. Project & Technical Coordination: Liaise with ArkLED’s technical team to prepare lighting specifications, schedules, and samples; support project handover with accurate documentation and commercial negotiation; work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure product availability and lead times. Market & Product Expertise: Stay informed on architectural lighting trends, technologies, and competitor activity; attend industry events, trade fairs, and networking functions; promote ArkLED’s custom manufacturing capabilities and local production strengths. Internal Collaboration: Work with internal teams on after‑sales support, maintain CRM records, sales reporting, and forecasting. Required Skills & Experience 3+ years experience in business development or sales—preferably in lighting, electrical, architectural products, or construction. Proven track record of winning and delivering high‑value projects. Strong network within architecture, design, and construction. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Strong understanding of project timelines, procurement processes, and tendering. Ability to read and interpret lighting plans, schedules, and specifications (training provided if needed). Preferred Existing relationships within hospitality or luxury residential development. Experience with custom lighting or architectural specification sales. Technical knowledge of LEDs, linear systems, optics, and drivers. Personal Attributes Highly driven and self‑motivated. Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
