About the Role As a Lead Customer Solutions Engineer in Origin Zero’s Engineering & Delivery team, you’ll help design and deliver renewable energy systems that power a cleaner future. Your primary focus will be the design, optimisation, and delivery of commercial‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with additional involvement in commercial‑scale solar system design. Key Responsibilities Lead technical design and optimisation of large‑scale battery and solar projects. Develop detailed electrical and system designs in accordance with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and customer expectations. Oversee Safety in Design assessments and lead technical review meetings for commercial battery and solar projects. Contribute to PV and energy solution tender processes, including concept design, detailed documentation, and budget development. Partner with Business Development to shape compelling technical and commercial offers for customers. Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver practical, cost‑effective, customer‑focused solutions. About You You’re an experienced engineer with a deep understanding of renewable energy systems and a passion for sustainable innovation. 5+ years’ experience designing and delivering commercial BESS (>100 kW) and solar PV systems (>100 kW). Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, DNSP connection requirements, and safety frameworks. Proficiency with PVSyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD (or similar design tools). Demonstrated ability to develop accurate cost estimates from concept through delivery. Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative, customer‑focused mindset.
