Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Supervisor Located in Dandenong South, VT Freight Express (VTFE) requires the services of a self‑motivated, driven EHS&F Supervisor to promote, implement and drive all aspects of workplace health and safety. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will hold EHS qualifications (minimum diploma) with 5+ years of in‑field operational experience. The required 5+ years of operational experience must be in an EHS role within any industry. They would have previous success by achieving and enhancing the established front line EHS targets for the relevant organization. This person will also require enhanced people skills as a substantial amount of work will focus on building relationships through engagement, and delivering on established targets to increase shared knowledge and success. Role Purpose To provide continuous EHS education and support for our site with a focus on our safety management system, training program, EHS database targets, facility compliance and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Continuously demonstrate a personal commitment to VTFE's Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Standards to achieve a workplace free from incidents, discrimination and harassment. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for ourselves, each other and contractors. Assisting VTFE in drafting, reviewing, and implementing hazard identification, operational risk assessments, SWMS, and EHS procedures. Management of the EHS database to ensure the site is compliant with VTFE's policies and statutory EHS obligations. Implementation of the training and education programs as established in the VTFE EHS strategy. Including training employees in our EHS procedures and systems. Leading site investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Supporting site to ensure that emergency plans, procedures and programs are established, compliant and tested through structured exercises. Ensuring compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Legislation including a working knowledge of the harmonization legislation, Australian Standards, and Industry Codes of Practice. Managing the EHS risk register. Completing internal EHS audits in accordance with the audit schedule. Ensuring that staff, contractors and visitors to the VTFE site are aware of their OH&S obligations and VTFE's policies and requirements relating to OH&S. Ensuring all staff certifications, qualifications and accreditations are maintained. Identifying opportunities to implement health and safety improvement initiatives across VTFE. Ensuring that all drivers are inducted, trained and remain compliant with all VTFE policies and procedures, and that all required documentation is filled in and checked off with administration prior to commencement. Ensuring all machinery, conveyor and electrical equipment is maintained in a safe and sound working condition. Maintaining a register of approved preferred tradespeople and regular service providers in a central location for use by all staff if required. Reviewing and developing systems associated with regular maintenance tasks that ensure minimal interruption to the daily operations within the building. Overseeing the maintenance of all air conditioning systems, electrical and fire systems, plumbing and essential services and maintaining compliance registers associated. Managing projects within a timeframe and under direction of VTFE management. Managing the external cleaners and any other persons regularly contracted for maintenance and/or repairs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
